Sengstock, Nadine

My paintings explore the fragile balance between protection and vulnerability, using soft, ambiguous forms to reflect on the body as a site shaped by personal experience and collective structures. These figures exist in liminal spaces, inviting reflection on intimacy, resilience and the tension between concealment and revelation. The bodies I depict are both exposed and protected, evoking healing as a nonlinear process and tracing how personal wounds resonate socially and culturally. By visualizing inner states, I engage with broader conversations on gender, power, care, and shifting conditions of belonging.
